problem with customer login

i am quite new to zen cart and have a problem. when i try to login as a customer sometimes it works sometimes it does not. its a new site and i have been testing it. i use windows 7 64bit. the version of zencart is You are presently using: v1.3.9c. its not the computer i have tried it on 3 others with same problem. its not explorer 8 as i have also tried with firefox and again same issue. is there anyone else out there who has had this issue.:(

testing this afternoon most time it has logged in. when it refuses i am not getting any error messages its as if my loggin detais i have enterd in the box just disapears and the screen refreshes this can then go rond and round as i try again and again

i have deleted my customer account and opened 2 more just to make sure there was not a glitch there.

if you have had this problem please drop me a line

after quite some time of not being able to get in i press login again and it did without me even putting in the details.

Clear the cache and cookies for your site ...

Hi I'm having the same problem when I want to login as a customer it gives me the error message ( There was a security error when trying to login.) with red background! although I got a new password but still I can''t login ! any idea why ?:no:

I too am having the same problem. Windows Server 2008, PHP5, IIS7, MYSQL5.1, PORT80, ZEN CART1.3.9h.

Same problem on ALL browsers, templates.

User cannot login, admin can (and make changes)

Did a re-install. Session cookies in PHP are working and verified. I get the same error as Alhakeem2001.

VERY frustrating as I need this site to be online in 1 week.

I was able to create an account ... but once logged off I cannot log back in ...

I am not seeing the immediate problem ...

What happens if you switch to the Classic Template?

For me, it is the same no matter what template I use.

the -3 is for the weblink to redirect to my original website, I don't think that made the problem ! what do you mean by using rewrite in your .htaccess ? I didn't modify this file ! and how to turn that off ? By the way I have many of the .htaccess files on my website! should I turn them all off?

I was just referring to the top level .htaccess if you were doing rewrites on your site that might be controlling things ...

So what do you suggest now ? I don't know what to do !

Yep... was just trying different things. That didn't make a difference..

It seems like that the zencart team is facing a major problem here!!

OK I fixed the login problem by replacing the tpl_login_default from my template_default folder to my custom template which enable me to login back to the test customer account but the problem is I still can't logout after logging in ! any ideas ?
