Using Zen Cart without the Shopping Cart?

I have a client who requires a website firstly that he can content manage (it's a bike shop) so he'll add new products etc etc, but he DOESN'T want a full ecomms site, merely a brochure site...

However, he wants the option to "upgrade" to ecommerce if the site takes off/demand exists for it...

Is there a way in Zen Cart that I can "turn off" the shopping/order process section to allow him to add pages and products etc etc, and then be able to use those features later on?

In the admin panel go to Configuration>My Store

Status of the store. 
Options are:

        * 0 - Normal Store
        * 1 - Showcase no prices
        * 2 - Showcase with prices 

Default: 0
