Help with Ultimate SEO addon instructions.

  1. Copy files from _zen_cart_folder_English to your Zen Cart install << my store is on root domain just to note where it is.
2a. If you haven't made changes to Zen Cart, Copy and replace files from v139-specific-files to your Zen Cart install
2b. If you have made changes to your Zen Cart, follow merge instructions below <<< I have added categories and changed index content.
  2. A sample .htaccess file is included. Simply rename to .htaccess and edit the word /shop/ to match your site
  3. Config the module in CONFIGURATION - SEO URLS

Those are the instructions. To me they don't mean anything at all. I'm really stuck trying to make anything of them.

I have bolded what confuses me. I did try extensive searching before this too.

It's mainly number 1. I have no idea what it is telling me to do.

Thanks all.

Re: Help with Ultimate SEO addon instructions.

I haven't used that mod, but it looks like it works as do most other mods (I'm assuming you're using version 1.3.9d):

Unzip the mod zip file.

Using your FTP program, drag and drop the 'admin' and 'includes' folders from the _zen_cart_folder_english folder to the root (top directory) of your store's files.

Do the same with the 'admin' and 'includes' folders in the v139-specific-files folder.

If you have changed your admin folder name, you'll have to change the admin folder name in both cases in the mod to the same name before uploading.

You may have to click 'Yes' or 'Overwrite' if your FTP client asks.

There are many here who believe that SEO re-writing modules are obsolete and not necessary.
