ALERT: PayPal Direct Payment Error ( 26 [Invalid vendor account])

I am getting this message from Paypal:ALERT: PayPal Direct Payment Error ( 26 [Invalid vendor account]) Can anyone tell me where to start looking to cure the issue please?

Your Paypal Payflow credentials need to be entered into your Payment module. The user/vendor/partner/password are required. They are also case-sensitive.

I had this problem and PayPal had to manually enable my Vendor account. Log a call with PayPal Merchant Tech Services. who will be able to assist you.
