Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I recently upgraded to 1.3.9d, however don't know if this is related or was there before. I am also using template Gloss_Black.

When customers go to a category, a number of items are listed on that page, along with a box to add products to their cart. They add a "1" to a box or two and click "ADD TO CART". The URL is (/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=34) The items do not appear in the cart and a message is displayed "Your Shopping Cart is empty."

If the customer actually clicks on the product picture and goes directly to the product page (/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21&products_id=58) and then adds the item to their cart, it works.

I have changed the template back to the default and the problem is still there.

I have the debug addon installed in EXTRA_CONFIGS and have set the db./file to file. I see zc.sql files but that is all.

Aloha from Hawaii! (its a dirty job, but SOMEBODY has to live here...)

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

Switch to the Classic Template ... does it work?

NOTE: Zen Cart v1.3.9 comes with the Debug Tool built in ... so be sure you are using the current code ...

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

No, it does not work with any of the templates.

I had installed the earlier version of the debug. I copied the new files in with the update, not knowing, so I should have the 1.3.9d version. I'll pull the update again just in case.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

UPDATE. I checked and the debug file is the correct one. Testing the problem only gives me 2 sql files there.

The cart is in maintenance right now. Let me know if you need access.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I was on 1.3.9a and updated to 1.3.9d. I had not updated to intermediate versions due to time constraints and wanted to see how the .htaccess issues resolved. (I was the one person of 4 who had image issues and was going back and forth with my hosting company).

Gloss_black template
Recover cart
Google Base Feeder
Sales Report (I think the version with taxes)
Admin Login as Customer
Database Backup MySql
I added my own patch years ago to enable the option to modify a customer record to not send emails to people by triggering the already coded ZenCart email option of NONE.

I use a few overrides, mainly for text replacement.

One category (not used in this test) has a bold category name.

The last processes I was working on was this:

I had created 5 NEW (not linked) items with attributes (a drop down box) which if chosen would double the weight and add an additional .5 times the price (thus creating a buy one - get one at half price.

I have since deleted the attributes for these products and am not using them for these tests.

I will try a re-install and if that does not change things, can re-load the cart prior to the update to see if this problem existed prior to version "d" for me.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I co-loaded my older 1.3.9a version (using the same database) and have the same problem, thus it does NOT appear to be an A to D upgrade problem.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I would try to use something like Beyond Compare to from scootersoftware and compare a clean Zen Cart v1.3.9d to your current files to see if you can locate where you might have file(s) out of date, corrupt or missing ...

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I have just installed a fresh (un modified 1.3.9d). I used my 2 config files and the old database. The problem persists.

That appears to point to the database or 1.3.9x.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

This doesn't make a lot of sense ...

What happens if you create a test database with its own username/password and change your clean v1.3.9d files:
/your_test_v139d/includes/configure.php
/your_test_v139d/admin/includes/configure.php

to use that new test database and run the zc_install and load the test data ...

NOTE: make sure that you are working with your TEST directory of v1.3.9d and your TEST database when attempting to do this clean install ...

Once this is working happily, then we will go on to the next step ...

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I'll try that next. However, in the meantime I'm changing the "Display product add to cart" option from 1 to 0 so I can bring the store back on line.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I created a new directory, loaded a new 1.3.9d and created a DB prefix to avoid problems. I performed an INSTALL and added the demo products.

I logged in and adjusted the "Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product) " to 2.

I then went to the cart (without creating an account) and browsed to SOFTWARE and then GIFT CERTIFICATES.

There are the certificates with "add to cart" boxes. I chose the $5 one and put a 1 in the box, then clicked in "ADD PRODUCT TO CART" link above the products. The error message says "Your Shopping Cart is empty.".

If you go down another level into the product description there is a "1" in the box, you click add and it shows up in the cart.

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

Can you add from the New Products, Featured Products or All Products listings?

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I cannot reproduce this problem in a clean v1.3.9d ...

What browser(s) have you tested this with?

Is there an URL where we could perhaps peek at this?

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

I tested with Firefox 3.6.6, IE 8.0.6001.18702 and Chrome 5.0.375.999. All fail.

Here is a test store, should be a fresh install with that one option enabled to allow adding products from the Categories page.

http://konacoffeegourmet.planet-aloha.com/store1/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=21

Type 1 in one of the boxes and add to cart.

I'm having massive network outages today, otherwise I'd try another fresh install to make sure I have not done anything odd. I've upgraded and installed multiple times in the past few days and I'm getting a bit "punchy".

Just for fun ... can you FTP the files from v1.3.9 to the server for your test directory ...

Sorry, but I don't understand.

The link I sent you was a fresh install of 1.3.9d with an empty database loaded with the demo products and one change in Admin.

The files I used were zen-cart-v1.3.9d-full-fileset-06032010 to an empty directory.

Unless I did something wrong, this should be a new install with no addons.

Are you wanting me to downgrade to 1.3.9 (prior to "a")?

Re: Multiple Add to cart broken after upgrade

What I am looking for is possible bad upload via FTP of files ...

Let's try this ...

From your clean copy of v1.3.9d, FTP to your site the files:
/store1/includes/main_cart_actions.php
/store1/includes/classes/shopping_cart.php

If it still does not work, then FTP from your clean copy of v1.3.9d all of the files and directories in:
/includes

NOTE: I am assuming that you got the clean copy of v1.3.9d from the link on our home page and unzipped it on your computer then load the files to your /store1 directory via FTP ...
