Adding Selected Product (& Quantity) from Category Page Not Working

Hi,

I am setting up an online store and have hit this problem that I've tried to trouble-shoot on my own, and that I've tried to find in the forums:

(This is with version v1.3.9d)

When products are listed on a category page, if I try to add any quantity (even 1) of individual products to the cart (via the Add Selected Products button), it then goes to the front page of the site and there are no products in the cart.

Adding products (and revising quantities) works perfectly from the individual product page and it perfectly allows me to modify quantities from the actual shopping cart page.

There just seems to be something wrong with doing this from the Category page.

Any help is much appreciated.

That is not acceptable for any other concerrn to take credit for being powered by...

For your issue - you have some files that control this that are altered or incorrect -

Reload the frontend files as this is not proper operation

Also you should consider creating your own template/name instead of using classic - - I could not suggest that you switch to the classic template to see if it behaved the same

I have no idea what the relationship between Netfirms and Zencart is so I can't speak to the "powered by" part. This was an install that I was able to do from the Netfirms control panel.

However, in reloading now, I'll download the install and do it directly myself (if the instructions are clear).

I'll let you know if the problem is solved this way.

I've now erased my install of Zen Cart and have manually re-installed.

Currently showing is the default template. The only change I'm made to the configuration is to add a Category and three Products.

Two out of the three products are configured to allow users to purchase based upon Quantity (entering a number and then Add).

One of the products has been configured to only allow users to purchase one at a time.

When shopping from the CATEGORY page, you'll see that you cannot add any quantity of product from the products that are configured to allow such.

But you can do so from the individual PRODUCT page or from the Shopping Cart if the product is already in it.

The product that is only configured to be purchased in single quantity has no such problem, but of course, shoppers cannot then add multiple quantities from any other page either.

I've downloaded a different Theme and tested it and found the problem is prevalent there as well.

Any ideas?

UPDATE:

This seems to be related to the hosting of my site (Netfirms).

The reason I now know this is because I have tried a brand new Zen Cart installation on another site that's hosted by another hoster (A Small Orange) and the problem that's identified here is not present.

This must have something to do with permissions that are defaulted at Netfirms.

I will try looking into this on my own but any insight would be appreciated.

Can someone with intimate insight into Zen Cart perhaps explain what the MySQL database is doing when multiple products are added to the cart from the Category screen?

Perhaps there are permissions related to this one action that are improperly defaulted on the Netfirms server.
