Cant Get Rid Of Left Column Bar

Hi, iam trying to get rid off the Left Bar/Column, tried going into Admin and turning it off, should be easy quick job, but for some reason its not working & it's still showing, dont know how to get rid off it.

Firebug shows

padding-right:0;
}

I changed:

padding-right:0;
}

But there is still a color bar on the left, where the column was, any ideas how to change this to white?

That would most likely be the background for the main content wrapper, or similar element. Use Firebug to find out what it belongs to. (If you don't have Firefox and its Web Developer and Firebug extensions installed yet, get them. They are essential tools for website development.)

Hi, i usually do use firebug with firefox, but i cant seem to select the column with firebug, any ideas?

So it wasn't an actual column, just a background image with a section that looked like a column, right? (or left:)

Yeah, it turned out to be a background image.
