Can anyone advise if it is possible to secure all the pages of a zencart shopping site?
It is a section of a bigger site and ideally I would like visitors to know that the shopping cart part is secure.

its pretty easy to secure entire shopping cart , but what is the point ? your site will be very slow as all those pages that wont need encryption , will now need to be encrypted .. Zen cart is pretty smart .. will secure pages that need securing .

OK point taken.
Here's my dilemma then: I did not choose the option in the configure.php to secure the checkout process (didn't see it).
Can I now enable this option without a re-install? Or if I re-install, will I lose settings?

You can just edit the configure.php files and changes will be instant.
