Advice Required before Upgrade from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9
I've got three heavily modified sites and I'm now running them on a PHP 5.3 server with 1.3.8a patched to conceal the error logs.
Now, long term I'd like these upgraded to 1.3.9 and I realise it's a task and a half. I'm wondering if anyone has any step by step links that outline a good procedure in a methodical guide that explains what we should do first.
I'm a complete novice at this as I'm sure a lot of Zen Cart users are. If there is a guideline thread anywhere that outlines the logical step by step process to follow when upgrading then I'd really appreciate this link.
I've been trying to upgrade one of my sites on a test server just to see how hard it is and I get white screens as soon as I start to copy files. The procedure I'm using is obviously wrong. What's the first thing I need to do when upgrading a heavily modified site?
