If you just want that chart to display, you could add it to the product descriptions.

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

you mean i can add the chart in the link i gave you? as in just put the link in the description? you need to be more clearer with your help please. that's not my chart anyhow it belongs to another website for their store. i have my own image chart i need to add somewhere on my store somehow.

This is the link to my item at my store:
http://www.tommydamani.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=200

after you've seen the link, please check the attached image for my ideas

Since you want the link associated with an attribute, your best bet might be to put the link HTML in the comment for that attribute. Edit the option name in Catalog > Option Name Manager, and add the complete HTML link code. Once you have it, you can add styling for layout. You might want to use Flexible Attributes in Free Addons for greater control.

Neither of our suggestions has anything to do with the first link you posted. It does appear that you want a link associated with an attribute; do you not know how to make an HTML link?
You could put the chart image in an ez-page and give the link to that.

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

ok i found out a solution. please follow these steps:

step 1:
go to Option Name Manager and create the name.. in my case its 'Measurements' then select the desired 'sort order'.. in my case its 25 (because i want it to display under the 'sizes' attribute and that sort order has been set to 20) set the drop down menu option type to 'TEXT' and click insert

step 2:
go to Attribute Controller, select your category to find your product you wish to add your new attribute to (in my case a measurements chart which will be displaying an image) then click the product you wish to add the new attribute to and click 'display'.

step 3
scroll down to 'Adding New Attribute' (look for the attribute you just created.. in my case its measurements.. [i saw TEXT/UPLOAD FILE #0 to the right of it after i found the attribute i created (Measurements)]) scroll down to 'Attributes Image Swatch:' and upload the image for that new attribute (in my case, Measurements) and click 'insert'

That should do it.

step 4:
to copy this exact same attribute to another product.. go to Attribute Controller, select your category to find your item you just added the attribute to and at the top you will see an option 'Copy to PRODUCT' then select the desired product to copy the attribute over.

to see how it looks now, see the before and after image attached to this reply.

Ok everyone are we now learning how to 'help' people in forums?

Put some effort. Assume the person you are helping knows nothing at all and help them!!!!! You come here for help so it would be nice to help others

Sorry you felt slighted; perhaps I should have phrased it "do you know how to make an HTML link?" I prefer to get some idea of a person's knowledge so as to give advice at the right level without wasting everyone's time.

The method you describe obviously gets a reasonably satisfying result for you, though there are a couple of stray "TEXT' snippets in there. Your image conveyed that you really wanted a link from the attribute to a chart; putting the chart as a swatch for an unused text input attribute is somewhat of a roundabout way of getting it on the page. It would be more straightforward to add the chart as an image in a readonly attribute, or in a comment for the Size attribute it relates to.
<img src="images/your_chart.gif" alt="Measurement chart" />
and save the chart in your base /images/ folder.

Thanks so much for the lesson. Glenn and I only have 20,000 posts between us. I expect we'll figure this out eventually.

Your lack of manners has earned you a place on my 'do not reply' list.

okies i think i see what you mean by this.. i think ur way would be better than my roundabout way as you're right there are stray 'TEXT' i didn't realize until u pointed it out.

i've uploaded the image into this directory:
tommydamani.com/store/images/uploads/test_chart.png

can you please tell me the code for the comments section? (i found where the comments section is now)

thank you

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

Given your image file location, you should be able to simply paste this into the comment area:

<img src="images/uploads/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />

You could also add an id if you need more individual styling control:

<img id="sizeChart" src="images/uploads/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />

and style #sizeChart {} in your stylesheet.

It occurs to me that /uploads/ is intended for customer file input, and may be protected from public viewing. If you have any problem with that, you could try moving the image elsewhere.

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

hey that worked better than my way =)

I changed the folder from 'uploads' to 'images' as you suggested

so the code is now:
<img src="images/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />

Now i'm confused to how you mean by the second part where you say i can add an ID?

gjh42:

You could also add an id if you need more individual styling control:

<img id="sizeChart" src="images/uploads/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />

and style #sizeChart {} in your stylesheet.

Can you explain that in a little more detail? cos i don't know where the code starts or finishes there? and where/what do i place the code in stylesheet? just put it anywhere at all? what is the code that i put in? did you leave a blank for me to fill in? if so where and what?

thank you

Can't take time right now, but it may not even be necessary - you may be able to get enough styling control as is. I'll be back later.

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

there seems to be an error somewhere. The image isn't showing up with your way or my way anymore!? The attribute isn't attaching! I don't know whats going on!

Your Way:
Option Name Manager i have 'Measurements' with
<img src="images/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />
in the comments section then i go to Attribute Controller to add the attribute to my product (with the other 2 attributes already attached [size and color]) but it simply wont attach itself? I click the 'Measurements' and click 'insert' but nothing!?

My Way:
Option Name Manager i have 'Measurements' then i go to Attribute Controller to add the attribute to my product (with the other 2 attributes already attached [size and color]) then i insert the image at the bottom at: 'Attributes Image Swatch' and click 'insert' but nothing again!?

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

i kind of fixed it.. i made yet another attribute 'Measurement Chart' and made it a 'file' type and then it inserted into my product.. once it was inserted i changed it back to 'read only' (while it was still inserted) and the upload file section went away but the image stayed which is good however, it now has the 'TEXT' displayed again :frusty: lol back to square one

Re: How do i add a seperate image/section for size 'measurements' for clothing?

I noticed that there were no chart images when I posted yesterday. Not sure what the problem could be. You wrote
"Your Way:

<img src="images/test_chart.png" alt="Measurement chart" />
in the comments section"
What option type did you have this as? Read only?
