Fedex Ground error - No Rates Returned, E523 : Invalid weight.

Hello,

I can get Fedex Express to work fine, however, I keep getting this error for Fedex Ground when it comes time to calculate shipping and let the customer choose which one they want.

Keep getting this error - No Rates Returned, E523 : Invalid weight.

I have the lbs radio button selected under Fedex Ground so I don't understand what the problem is........can anyone help??

I'm having the same kind of problems. No fix in sight. Got any ideas for the dimensions and shipping? Can't get the numinix to work for product fields. Zencart won't store the info??

I am still trying to resolve this issues....any help out there???

I have found NOONE with a working fexex freight module. I have seen nothing but nightmares with heavier shipments. Nobody has been able to offer any assistance.

Could you provide a few clues about your problem?

Also, what FedEx are you using ... as in where, specifically, did you download it ... there are many copies running around ...

I am using the newest numinix and also numinix product fields.
The weights of the items that are shipping can range from 2 or 3 to 250lbs. As soon as the weight get too high, fedex ground and fedex express stop returning rates and I have been unsuccessful at all attempts to get a freight quote. The client has an acct. One time I got it to que, it said the acct number didn't exist. Probably because I was trying to get the rate from the wrong server, but I'm not sure. It's been a very discouraging and disheartening process. I've pretty much taken a defeatist attitude on the whole thing and try to hide in a corner. I have an other site that uses fedex without issue but it isn't set with such heavy items and it is older. I am afraid to modify that one. I tried all I knew to do, tried to contact numinix (they haven't seen a freight module as of yet), tried to contact merlin....I don't really think he wants bothered with this anymore because of the way he was disrespected for his efforts. I'm not bashing zencart, I like zencart, but this shipping thing has been a nightmare. I've redone the cart from scratch twice already.
Any assistance or direction or would be greatly appreciated.

Shipping companies have limits on the size of a package ...

What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging?

Could you be more specific about which FedEx shipping add on you are using? Saying you have the "newest" of "someone's" add on does not really tell us what you are really using as we do not know where you got what that you think is the newest ... :unsure:

I was asking for Ship To and Ship From and weights so things could be tested ...

The ship to would be zip code 15044 in PA, the ship from would be 15090 in PA. If i ship two items that are 250lbs each, it gives me an error for invalid dimensions. I am using fedex module 1.4.5.2 from the zencart site. I am running the newest zencart. I don't understand why the weight would stop me from getting rates.....I would think that since I set it packaged to go, it tallies all the items seperately. The module even passes the dim weight over to fedex. Everything would seem to be working correctly except the invalid dimensions code that passes back. I also changed the size of the items to see if that would have an impact. It did not. I think it's all about the weight. Of course what I think has little to do with fact. That's painfully obvious by all the trouble I am having with this. My settings are package tares are 0:0...max weight I will ship is 1300lbs. Just set that high to see if it would help. The weight of 1 large item and many small ones works fine. Once I hit the 500lb mark with 2 large items it doesn't work.

How are you setting the dimensions for these large packages? :unsure:

I do not believe that is part of this module and for weights over 150, I believe FedEx requires dimensions ...

No FedEx Ground or Home Delivery rates for us either. Uninstalled and Reinstalled module and rates being pulled???

Numinix product fields takes the sizes and stores it. It passes the info to fedex. Here is a printout of the transaction

I am using the latest fedex shipping module on zencart site made by Numinix. I am using "Numinix Product Fields" to get the dimensions.

See what happens if you change the code in the:
/includes/modules/shipping/fedexground.php

where the code reads:

        if ($this->packageType == '01' && $shipping_weight < 1) {
          $this->_setWeight(1);
        } else {
          $this->_setWeight(round($_SESSION['cart']->show_weight(),9));
        }

to read:

        if ($this->packageType == '01' && $shipping_weight < 1) {
          $this->_setWeight(1);
        } else {
          $this->_setWeight(round($shipping_weight,9));
        }

Fedex is pulling ground rates now even at 1000 lbs. I don't know why, I'm not sure I really did anything to it. Thank you for all your help.

Thanks for the update that this is now working for you ... :smile:

Might sound silly, but I tripped on this. Be certain that the shipment has a weight associated with it. For some reason FedEx Express will show shipping costs when a shipment doesn't have a weight, but FedEx ground gives the error.:oops:

I am in need of help on this same issue - Except mine is not for too much weight, but instead if my package is too light. As soon as we add enough items to get to .5 lbs then fedex ground starts to work. If under .5 lbs it gives us the same error: Invalid Weight.

Is there anyway we can just set fedex weight to .5 lbs to start on every order? I think that would be the easiest fix for us, as most all of our items are very light in weight.....
