my store didn't carry over to my site?

??? I created the zen shopping page first and give it a name, lets say shop and I can see it on my website when i type it in manually. Now I go to my host to create a new page for that. AND it didn't carry over!!! After mywebsite name it has /shop.php

???? How I transfer this thing over? I thought I can just create a new page afterwards with the same name and it'll pop right up because I have been accessing it.

Please rephrase this. It's not clear what you've done or what you're asking.

What's a "zen shopping page"? Have you installed Zen Cart?

What do you mean by "create a new page for that"? Are you trying to set up a new domain name?

What, exactly, are you trying to transfer?

I have a justhost account and I created my website. Then I went to install Zencart and it created an accunt for me. Lets say https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop.

So I work on it and I can actually see the process on that URL. Now I thought I could just go back to my Website and just create a shop page with the name shop and it would just show up. But it didn't!!!
When I click on the shop tab on the Category Field it shows https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop.php but without the php next to shop, I can see the ZenCart website I was working on?

:(

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

OK. https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop points to a directory and not a file.

When no file is specified as the default in a directory, your justhost account is configured to first try https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop/index.html and if it doesn't find that https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop/index.php which is where your Zen Cart is.

That's a completely different location to https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop.php, which is a file that I'm guessing doesn't exist.

The bit I'm not understanding is why you feel the need to create a file with the same name as your shop. And indeed, if you actually succeed you'll break your shop as you will have overwritten a key file needed to launch and control it.

I don't know what I'm doing :( I thought as long as I have the name shop It'll show up when I add it later to my hosting site. (I didn't want a messy page on the website while I was working on it.

So what can I do now??

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

You will be able to point to it later by creating links to https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop/index.php or even https://www.ThisIsMySiteThatIHave1234.com/shop.

You may even decide to move it to be the main entry point for your site (and there's a tutorial on how to do that in the FAQs section of this site).

But for the time being, if there are no links, nobody but you will know it's there, so why worry about it?

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

I don't want it to be my homepage. Why can't I just move it to the store one if it can be done to the homepage. Help please!

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

You know what I was sceptical about this being the only page because this site is not easy to use as the other click and click site.

But it'll look better and with you guys and girls help I might manage. I couldn't find that link? Where is that link to the FAQ to merge this and get rid of the other site.

Thanks in advance from a newibe! I appreciate it!!!

?

Is this it?

https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=122

Wow!!! That's complicated!!! Just to be clear The Zencart site that I'm working on now will be transferred and take over my website to be the front page and only site. So this will delete everything I have on my current website?

I want the zencart site to be the only site and the old webpage gone. (The only problem is my pictures is used as a link to zencart) Is there an easier way, can my host just change things around for me?

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

Hmmm. I assume that you haven't actually tried it. At Kuroi that's what we do when we need to move a site and it takes about 5 minutes.

If we're moving it from a different location it can longer - but that's because the database needs to move too and files need to be uploaded and unzipped.

There is an even easier approach, but that requires certain domain management tools to be available in your hosting account. You can read bout it here.

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

i am not using linux server. I am using windows.

I am still working on the zencart site, could I move it now and then finish working on it when it's moved? I really like to move it now so everything will look cleaner and in one spot.

Re: my store didn't carry over to my site?

You can move it whenever you like and work on it wherever you wish. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question.
