Adding the customer ID to the 'Office Use Only' section of emails

We are wanting to add the customer's ID number into the 'Office Use Only' section of the order confirmation email alongside name, ip address, telephone number, etc.

I guess changes need to be made to order.php but any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

We are using version 1.3.8.
