Customer login SSL not working correctly?

Hi,

I have installed SSL on my domain and it is functioning right on my admin panel for the store but for the customer login it flashes its secure for a fraction of a second then gives me a red padlock in firefox, when clicked it says "connection partially encrypted" instead of "connection Encypted: blah blah blah"

Isn't it supposed to be fully encrypted?

Any help will be appreciated thanks!

Hard to diagnose without knowing what the website is - but typically a partial encryption means you may have images hardcoded with an http:// prefix or scripts that are not secure...

Yes that was it thank you! as soon as you said that i went and found the image that was hardcoded.

Hi everyone. I am having the same issue. I have read multiple threads and followed all the instructions. I checked and rechecked the images, the codes in both configure pages and still the same thing. I contacted the hosting company and they say the ssl in working fine.

I turned off live help, no change, removed google analytics, no help there.

Any ideas?

You should start your own thread versus hijacking anothers that is complete.....

Update: I have stripped away as musch as I could. I disabled all of the side boxes and removed google anyalitics. When you hit the enter button I am still recieving the partially encrypted message.

When you purchased your SSL did you use the www in front of your domain name??
If not and the configure.php show this it will have to be changed..

Your ssl certificate was issued to https://www.pecasdatransmissao.com and not to just pecasdatransmissao.com

Change your configure.php files to use the www. in front of the domain.

Your https pages show no error in IE 8, but they show a broken padlock in Firefox.

Ok, I just went to both configure files and added the www and still the same problem. I tried just changing it in the includes and then changed it in the admin-includes and both at the same time. Still no luck.

Not sure if this makes a difference or not but when I log in to the admin section the ssl works fine. Its on all the time.

Does not appear that you were successful in uploading the edited configures

FTP the one on the server to your local and open it to see that it still does not have the www

You can either change the permissions on the file, prpbably with your hosts filemanager or use ftp to rename the server copy to something like configure.orig

Then FTP the edited copy to the server

I changed it back to without the www when I saw it did not work. Ok, so i have now added the www to the configure file and added the www to the cofigue-admin for HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER and HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER only.

I'm not sure why you have an http based javascript pop-up window for the Shopping Cart in the coding of the login page. It's commented out, but not correctly. Try removing this code:

I searched for every instance of this code. There where three. I started with the loging php and deleted every one checking the login page before moving on to the next. Same thing.

Well after hours and hours of research and trial and error I finally figured it out.

I decided to copy the page sources of the log in page and created a test page on the server. I started deleting line by line until I recieved a sercrue log in. The problem was coming for the css file.

So I decided to start deleting every line until I hit the the one causing the problem. I had an image in the #logoWrapper. I deleted the image information and everything is working. Wooo Hoooooooo!
