installing locally - blank screen on wamp server

hi im new to zen cart. V2.

Ive downloaded an existing zen cart site to make some changes.
It runs fine on the server.

I use wamp server at home.

Ive installed the db and copied all the files, and changed the configuration.

I get a blank screen.

Initally i got message about the db not connecting after i changed the configuration that when away.

Help would be much apprieciated.

Ive downloaded a fresh copy of zencart and installed it sucessfully just to check the configuration files.

Ive solved my own problem by changing php version but found another.

I cant login to the admin.
Ive followed this br assblogs.com /blog/how-to-reset-your-zencart-password to create a new pass word in the db but still cant log.

Im using zen cart v2
