Formatting text in category description

How can I format the text in the Category Description area? I was wanting to add a bulleted list to a category description using the edit category section of the Admin.
When I paste the text in there the way I want it formatted and save it, it displays on the page as one big chunk, and it all runs together.

When I style the category description manually using HTML, it shows fine on the page, so it may be the program you're pasting from is adding stuff Zencart doesn't like.

What is that program, and can you post an example of what you're pasting ?
