help with header image links are floating over logo

Hello! I just upgraded from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9e and a lot of my customisations are off...

My store is currently some kind of hybrid between the classic template and my custom template:

The header image links seem to be floating over the logo in the branding display. It's probably a problem with the logo? because I can't get it to center either... but I just want to know how to unfloat the header image links without using a whole bunch of <BR> tags!

Do you have a custom tpl_header.php file?

Yes I do, in store/includes/templates/custom/common

The order is branding display, header image links, logo & navigation display.

I just whacked in a center tag:

<!--bof-branding display--> <center>

which has centered the logo (yay!) but i can't figure out the floating.
