Advice with inventory and payment needed.

Hi. Hopefully someone can help me clarify a basic set up with the inventory and payments on Zen Cart.

I use PayPal as my payment provider, am perfectly happy with them and not really looking for alternatives. :smile:

I have more than one shop for which I need to use inventory control, as many items I will now be selling will be 'one offs'. If I've understood the set up right, that scenario rules out PayPal Website Standard as the Paypal Console on their site only allows you to specify one return URL?

If I use PayPal Express and use the API credentials, am I right in assuming that these can be used on multiple sites and is the only practical way to have inventory control on more than one site? I have multiple trading names on my Paypal account.

On the inventory side, I only want the products deleted from sale once payment has actually beeen made.

You should use Paypal Express in any event, as it's more stable.

You specify a return URL in either Paypal version, but Zencart overrides that and will return to the proper site, as I understand it.

In the set up of the payment modules within Zen there appears no need to set up a return URL for Express Checkout, whereas with PayPal standard there are specific instructions for setting up a return URL and initiating IPN. :unsure:

That is what makes me think that perhaps Zen cannot be used for multiple shops with PayPal Website Standard, due to only being able to have one return URL specified on the PayPal site.
