invoicing customers

i get alot of customers asking for an invoice (so they can claim back the VAT) so im always happy to supply them with an invoice. How ever at the moment i have an invoice word doc set up which i wthen copy and paste the info from the admin side of my website and print the word doc to a PDF and email to customer.

This is a little long winded and wondered if there was a quicker way.

Ive tried the invoice button on the admin section but this doesn't seem to work for what i need. Yes it displays a nice invoice with all the info i need but there is no option to email this invoice stright from admin (that i can see) and ive tried printing this invoice stright the PDF convertedr which works but however along the top of the page it gives the url of my admin section which is a big no no.

can anyone point me out a better and quicker option?

The URL of you admin system is being inserted by your browser. You can turn this off in your browser settings.

If you don't want it left off normally, an option is to use a different browser for printing your invoices. I have clients who use Internet Explorer just for dealing with their customer orders, and Firefox for everything else.

if i could turn that off in bouser that would be miles easier.... you know how ?? ill do a google search as well.

Remove from Internet Explorer
Simply click on the little arrow next to the printer icon on the toolbar, and then choose Page Setup from the menu.

Now you should see a “Headers and Footers” section where you can specify what is printed. The codes, like &w and &b are replaced with the values on the current page, such as the URL.

To remove the URL from printing, simply remove the text from the Footer box. Otherwise, you can more fully customize the setup by following the instructions in this article.
Tip: If you just want to remove the header and footer for a single print job, you can click on Print Preview, and then click on the button for “Turn headers and footers on or off”

Then you can simply click the print button, and your print job will print without that extra information.
Remove From Firefox
Go to the File \ Page Setup item on the menu, and then select the Margins & Header/Footer tab in the dialog.

You should be able to change the drop-downs to set the Title or URL to –blank– instead, which will prevent them from printing. Note that you could also use this to put the page numbers at the top instead of the bottom if you prefer that.
Note: You can access the Page Setup from the print preview screen, which should set the options just for that print job.

print this to PDF and email to customers as neeed using windows live mail. PDF creator is primoPDF which is free and simple to use.

Also edited my invoice.php file in admin to include my companies VAT number etc.
