How to modify "country" dropdown on registration page?

Hi guys,

I need to modify the "country" dropdown on the Customer Registration page to eliminate certain countries my client doesn't want to do business in.

I can see it being called in "tpl_modules_create_account.php", but I can't find the actual text list itself. Can someone please clue me about where to look?

I know it's probably obvious, but I'm drawing a blank here.

Thanks! all help appreciated!

Re: How to modify "country" dropdown on registration page?

Countries are contained in the database... Generally, php files are there to compose a page and perform certain FUNCTIONS. Most of the "content" of your site is contained in the database.

Notable exceptions to this are DEFINED STATEMENTS in the language files, and certain "html" pages - (the defined pages).

Countries need to then be removed from the database, and the safest way for a novice to do this is via the admin panel.

Admin >>> Locations / Taxes >>> Countries.

Simply use the tools under this feature to delete country names that your client does not want.
