Urgent shipping help required

Ok guys need help,been on hours and still can't make it out,i'll be using royal mail mainly for shipping all my items,basically i need to configure my shipping,firstly how do i do this from the admin panel?

Also i will be selling small items and some large is there an easy method to set up shipping?

I was going to offer free shipping on orders over 100 pound but if its complicated to implement the shipping onto my shop i would prefer an easier method.

Please help as i need my shop up & running a.s.a.p.

There is a BIG ROYAL MAIL shipping module available in the free add-ons.

I however, have created my own RM modules. The process involves making "clones" of other modules... I made clones of the ZONETABLES module also available in the free downloads.

There are a number of posts on the forum about cloning shipping modules.

Read this one by fairestcape, who describes cloning the FLAT RATE module.

The principle is the SAME for many other modules, including the zonetables module.

Sorry to be a pain but exactly how would i do this?

Its the only thing stopping me at the moment from setting my shop up live for customers to buy.

would i go to

a) admin cp>modules>shipping then flat rate? :huh:

As i say sorry just can't get my head around the shipping thing.

Unfortunately, cloning the code files requires you to:

1. Have the skill to copy the relevant code files, and then (using a plain-text editor) make the alterations as shown by Fairestcape.

2. Understand the relationship(s) between the module php files and their corresponding language php files.

3. Apply the correct name labelling to the cloned modules, so you know what RM service they are going to be used for.

4. Knowing how to configure each module (once it is loaded onto your server), to reflect the RM services you intend to offer. (This will ALSO involve setting up zones and their zone definitions - as different RM services apply to different geo regions - even in the UK)

Steps 1 to 3 above are NOT done in your store admin console. These steps are the creation of the appropriate CODE (php) files that will provide the functionality you require.

If you decide to use the Big Royal Mail module, then you need to know the procedures for installing add-on modules into your ZC.

There are tutorials explaining this.
