Changing "page 2" url - Please Help

I am trying to change the name of a page so that it reflects the change in its url. I have managed to change the text on the page from 'Page 2' to 'How To Order' for example using FAQ's, however is it possible to change the url to reflect this change, as I have tried to rename Page 2 via the back end of the store, and when linked, it doesn't recognise this new renamed page?

Here's an example of what I want to change:

http://www.mystore.com/store/index.php?main_page=page_2

to

http://www.mystore.com/store/index.php?main_page=how_to_order

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

I was going to ask the very same question. I want to re-name the "page 2, page 3, page 4" to my own page names.

I found it, and its mad easy too....
go to includes/languages/english.php
do a search for "Page 2" and change it to "How to Order"

save, and upload...
Easy Peasy...

Hi. I started out with the EZ Page tutorials, and made the suggested changes to includes->languages->ENGLISH->page_?,php. However, it seemed to make no difference in either Admin or on the web page.

I tried renaming page_2.php but, as mentioned above, that was ignored by the cart.

The suggestion above to go to includes/languages/english.php worked. It should be pointed out that if a custom template is being used, the english.php file to be used would be includes/languages/CUSTOMTEMPLATE/english.php, to preserve the original english.php in its original condition as the default.

It should also be pointed out that the tutorial omitted the english.php change which is critical to changing the "More Information" box titles, and so the tutorial should be updated to include that information.

I would love to know what the purpose is of changing the define ('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'Page ?'); and define (HEADING TITLE', 'Page ?'); in the includes/languages/english/page_?.php file, as instructed on the "How do I change Page_? (name) tutorial. That seemed to have no obvious effect.

Well, I see the Heading Title is at the beginning of the Page 2. But what about the Navbar Title?

Hi. I used a different title for the Navbar Title, hoping to discover the answer to my above question, and it paid off: The NAVBAR_TITLE appears at the top of the page navigated to, as part of the breadcrumb: Home::Navbar Title.

Hi everyone... Pushing this up- as I went through- and edited the pages in the english php file.. Worked great!!

Only question is this??? When it shows on my home page- it shows as them being renamed- BUT the links to them are still linked to page_2, page_3, and page_4 and if you go to the admin area- and go to tools- define pages editor- the pages are still named by their original names... Looking for solution to this part of it :)

Please follow the steps given below:-

you need to change includes/filenames.php
find define('PAGE_2', 'page_2'); and change the lower case page_2 to what ever you want to name it

now find includes/languages/english/page_2.php and rename it. ( changing the text inside as well

now go to includes/languages/english/html_includes/page_2.php and rename it.

now go to includes/modules/pages/page_2 and change the name of the folder to what ever your new name is.

now go to includes/templates/default_templat/templates/tpl_page_2_default.php and change the name to tpl_your new name_default.php - DONE"

ok, i tried the above instructions, and i get a page not found error, i'll look at it again tomorrow(eyes getting tired!)

I'm sure there is something i've missed.

I was able to change the title of page 2, but when i followed the rest of the instructions, thats when i got the error.

I ran a search in Google for my store name and in one search result it came up with:

"Choosing a System: Zen Cart! The Art of E-commerce"

The "Choosing a System" is the NAVBAR title in includes/languages/english/mytemplate/page_2.php.

Obviously this seems to state my page is about Zen Cart.

So far, I have not found the Zen Cart statement in the "view page source" screen, although it is undoubtedly there.

I cannot figure out where to change the Zen Cart message because the search title should be about my store, not Zen Cart.

I did not come up with anything searching the web developer's tool or searching in includes/languages/english/mytemplate/page_2.php or includes/languages/english/html_includes/mytemplate/define_page_2.php.

I don't see a reference on the page in the website to Zen Cart other than in the footer, and it does not state The Art of E-commerce.
