how to change url from http://myshop.com to http://www.myshop.com ?

hi,
anyone know how to change url from http://myshop.com to http://www.myshop.com ?

to be main url

cuz i got set it up somewhere without www? why is that ?

what file to edit ?

it generates links in sitemapxml without www.

is it any difference to the search engines? :clap:

Sounds like you need to add this to your .htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{http_host} ^domainname.com [nc]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domainname.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^443$

in the files configure.php (/includes and /admin) add www. to the domains so it looks like http://www.mysite.com instead of http://mysite.com

tried to upload the files after editing but says error do i need to change chmod attributes for protected folder?

The configure files are normally (should be) set to read only, so you can't just upload new versions. You will need to change the permissions to allow you to overwrite them (or more risky but quicker if you're confident, delete them) before uploading your new versions. Don't forget to ensure that your new versions are also set to read-only once in place.
