Email not sending after upgrade from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9

Hi,

First i would like to say that as a young web designer, Zencart has pretty much changed my life. I have used it for several clients stores and it has proved to be a stable platform on which to base an ecommerce development business.

My main problem is that i have upgraded a zencart from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9f. The install went fine and i did the database update as normal.

The site works perfectly apart from the fact that no emails are being sent from the contact form and no notifications are sent at all. Before the upgrade to 1.3.9f emails were functioning properly. I am using smtp auth and the settings have remained unaltered from the upgrade. I am with 1and1 hosting for email.

I have tried using phpmail, sendmail etc as a quick alternative but to no avail. When i send an email from the contact form on the site it says it has been sent but nothing is recieved. If i use the send email function from the tools menu the message says it has been sent but displays Error ERROR: Failed sending email to: "Jack Shreevus" with subject: "test" SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

I know that my smtp setting are correct as a) they worked before the upgrade and b) i have triple checked them. I also know the port to be correct as well. I have my own vps server so its not a shared hosting environment so to speak.

Please can you help me on this, i am worried as i only have today and tomorrow to get this upgrade finished! ahhh lol! If i have been a fool and not included enough info please let me know and i will post it for you.

Thanks in advance :-)

Re: Email not sending after upgrade from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9

Its working now i read an post concerning the same thing in a previous version of zen with gmail. Dr Byte had told the person to try port 25. It solved my problem. Sweet!
