need help: "your shopping cart is empty" on chrome

hello everyone,I have encountered a strange problem,

when adding a product to the shopping cart on Chrome browser, it shows " your shopping cart is empty"; but there is no same problem when on other browsers like IE,Firefox etc.

I have updated my chrome to the newest version, and also changed to another computer to test it, but there is still the problem.

Can anyone solve my problem? thanks very much in advance.

What is the URL to your website, where we can test the issue you mentioned.

"empty shopping cart" usually means that your cookie session paths are wrong. Can you post your shop /includes/configure.php file but WITHOUT the DB name/username/password so we can check what you have for your cookie path. Edith

Re: need help: "your shopping cart is empty" on chrome

mh - that looks straight-forward and correct. Do you have any .htaccess rewrite rules in place which could confuse Google Chrome? May be worth switching off any rewrite rules & see if that makes a difference.

I've set Google Chrome to ask me every time when a cookie is set, and your site definitely sets a cookie but seems to lose the data in-between. Not sure if it makes any difference, but on Google Chrome, the cookie domain has a dot in front of the IP: .87.207.57.202

Re: need help: "your shopping cart is empty" on chrome

Why are you using an IP address instead of a real domain name?
And what happens if you switch to a real domain name?

One other thing to try - in your admin, set "recreate session" to false.

terraGirl:

Just a word of caution:
While testing that may provide useful information, it is NOT recommended to leave that set to false for any other reason than just a quick test.

Re: need help: "your shopping cart is empty" on chrome

hi everyone, thanks for help

for future generations:
probably the problem is with that the page is put in subdirectory.
when I change the:

Cookie Domain
If True the full domain name will be used to store the cookie, e.g. https://www.mydomain.com. If False only a partial domain name will be used, e.g. mydomain.com. If you are unsure about this, always leave set to true.

in Admin-Configuration-Session
to False it works
