After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I upgraded my shop from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f. I uploaded the whole new set over the existing one and ran the upgrade. Everything worked perfect.

Now if I want to alter a setting in my admin panel, I can't apply any changes. When I hit the send button, no changes are made and I am redirected to the admin index page.
I change my admin folders name, but I also changed the name of the uploaded new admin folder.

I can add a comment to an order, but I think there is a problem to update anything that is in the configuration table.

Did you follow the upgrade instructions to a tee as per docs folder?

Please note that there are old 1.3.8a files to be deleted.....

I change my admin folders name, but I also changed the name of the uploaded new admin folder.

Are your name changes reflected in the includes/configure.php file?

Did you compare your 1.3.8a files to the 1.3.9f file set and merged them as needed?

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I compared everything and I didn't know about deleting 1.3.8 files.

Reading a bit more I found some other topics and I cleared my cache and cookies and I replaced again the html_output.php again on the server in the admin -> includes -> functions folder and now everything seems to work again.

Thank you for your help and I hope someone else can benefit from my stupid mistake. ;-)

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I was using version 1.38 and used "simple scripts" to do the upgrade to 1.39. I can log in to admin but anything I click from there it takes me back to the log in page. I can't do anything but log in and then log in again!

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I did that using both IE and Mcafee. still it takes me back to log in after I try to do anything other than support or store. I did receive more orders so the store is still working fine, just the admin will not let me do anything

WELL, I used 3 different PC's and both Mozilla and IE. everything had the same problem. I can log in to admin but anywhere I try to go from there, it just takes me back to the log in page:(

Do you have any customizations to files in the /admin directory of files?

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

not sure of what u mean by customizations. I use a different template from the zencart downloads, and of course my items in the store. I also have chgd to use my franchise logo in many places too. I just am not sure which u may mean as customizations. By the way I even used Google chrome as my browser but same result:wacko:

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I am trying to find out if you were to rename your /admin directory to /admin_OLD and then loaded a new copy of the /admin directory from a clean Zen Cart v1.3.9f and put your file:
/admin/includes/configure.php

into the new copy ... would you lose any customizations?

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

i am not that advanced of Zencart to know for sure. I use the book to figure out how to change things to what I envision I want my cart to be like. Where those chgs were made, I do not remember 4 sure. BUT I need to get to my admin. I will try whatever you suggest (with a little guidance if possible).

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

Download a clean copy of Zen Cart v1.3.9f from the link on our home page ...

Rename your directory /admin to /admin_OLD

Copy a clean copy of /admin directory and files to your server ...

Take a copy of the:
/admin_old/includes/configure.php

and copy it to:
/admin/includes

Clear your browser cache and cookies for your site ...

Try to get into your admin ... does it work?

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

so doing this will only change the Admin folder and files on my server. Does the new Admin folder change my payment or shipping modules? Does it change the template or appearance of my cart? I am prepared to make these steps. I just need to know what to expect.

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

This is a test ...

It will only change the Admin of your Zen Cart ...

You can always rename your original /admin that you are renaming to /admin_OLD back if this does not work, after you delete the clean /admin from v1.3.9f ... should there be a problem ...

Don't forget you need to copy the:
/admin/includes/configure.php

file from your current /admin into the new /admin ...
