After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

ok, 1. downloaded zencart 2. uploaded the admin folders after renaming original 3. uploaded Admin\includes\config.php 4.had to rename Admin folder to new name (security) to match the config info

same thing.....it takes me in the same loop to log in. One note though, I see in the config file that it says....@package Configuration Settings circa 1.3.8

does this mean it is the wrong version config file?

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

here is the first lines I see in the Admin\includes\config.php file

<?php /** * @package Configuration Settings circa 1.3.8 * @copyright Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team * @copyright Portions Copyright 2003 osCommerce * @license <http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt> GNU Public License V2.0 */ In dreamweaver, it says there is an invalid markup <?>php/** *

Could you post the files, from the server, without your username and password, for:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

The problem is you have mixed secure settings:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com/~XXXXX');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com');

Change in both files:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com);
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com');

then clear your cache and cookies for your site and see if this now works ...

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

the HTTP SERVER and the HTTPS SERVER do match in both files. where I used the xxxx was my sign in to ther server. I am assuming that the HTTPS CATALOG does not need the server login.

A little confused

OK, I took out the login trail on the HTTPS_SERVER in the Admin/configure.php then cleared cache and it appears to work.

Thank you for your continued help! I appreciate you staying with me til problem was solved. I will add to the Zen coffee fund!

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

You need to do it also for your shop:
/includes/configure.php

as you have a proper secure certificate for your site ... but you are using the shared certificate ...

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

includes/configure.php does not have the same language for me to see where to change.

HTTP_SERVER http://cindyscinnamon.com'
HTTPS_SERVER https://secure.blurhost.com/~loginame'

that is the only place I see could be changed but not sure I should take secure.server name off

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

You own a secure certificate for:
https://www.cindyscinnamon.com

So you should use it for your site ...

Currently, you are using:
cindyscinnamon.com

for your non-secure pages ...

For your secure pages ... you are using a "shared" certificate:
https://secure.blurhost.com/~loginame

But you should use the one you own ...
https://cindyscinnamon.com

Now if you have problems when set to your secure certificate as:
https://cindyscinnamon.com

You should change the references for ALL the HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER settings to:
https://www.cindyscinnamon.com

So your admin would either be:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com');

Or you would use:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.cindyscinnamon.com');

For your store you would use either:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://cindyscinnamon.com');

Or you would use:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.cindyscinnamon.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.cindyscinnamon.com');

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

ok, I changed the store as well. BUT I have a new problem. When a customer goes to check out, once they leave the shipping selection page, it takes them to a blank screen. They can "back" to previous screen but cant continue to payment screen. What is wrong here? it worked ok while we were working on admin problem but now it dont:shocking:

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

Could you peek in the /cache directory and see what debug logs are in there when you get the blank page(s)?

Be sure to refresh your FTP list of files and these debug logs are time stamped ...

Note: you really need to optimize your images:

1,517.65 KB (1,554,076 bytes)
2,304px × 1,728px (scaled to 100px × 75px)

That will turn people off and frighten spiders and burn bandwidth ... :eek:

Re: After upgrade from 1.3. 8 to 1.3.9f Admin panel not allowing changes

I did look there. I saw a prob with fedex.php. I was seeing an error on checkout that said that file was missing, so I put it there (my fault) now it is deleted (I do not have fedex option). Prob solved!:D

EXCEPT for the admin screen that shows "last 10 days" activity, now shows todays activity on all 10 days. This started right after upgrade but it was not keeping me from getting paid nor any probs for customers. (just a little info)

Something in the right column that comes up ...

FireFox and add ons for it such as the Web Developers and FireBug would really help you out ...

You do not want to run PayPal Standard and PayPal Express together ... pick one method or the other ...

NOTE: the Credit Card cc Payment Module was removed from v1.3.9 as this is not a safe method for taking payments by credit cards and you should look for a safer credit card solution ... perhaps something in the Recommended Services would be of help to you for this ...
