admin login page is missing. cant access admin area

i'm not sure what happened to my site, but my admin area page in not available.
earlier today it was simply blank when you visit it , and after making few changes to admin/includes/configure. php file i was able to load a bunch of "weird characters". its not a blank page, but at least im editing the right file.

version 1.3.8 zen cart, trying to upgrade it all as soon as i am able to log in the admin.

What else had you done to require edits to the configure.php file??

the changes i had done was to adjust the proper folder structure on my server. my website was hacked longtime ago, then i closed up all security holes, but last week my hosting company upgraded their sql version ( i think) and that when I started to get this issues)

after the mysql upgrade, my catalog was down also, but i was able to find post on how to fix the website itself, now its just the admin that needs to be fixed.

Use FTP and check your admin files for any recent modified date that you are not aware of - - maybe all files

ok i found the mistake and was able log in. thank you , kobra for your help.

Now that you've solved your admin issue I strongly urge you to change your admin folder name....the link is here for all to follow which leaves you open to hacking especially as there is also no password protect on the folder.

It would real nice if you could post your solution also. As this thread is to help other users with the same issues.

sorry quite new to public forums so please excuse me for any gaffs.
I just installed Zen Cart on my domain (for the 5th time to be sure that I wasn't being careless somewhere).
I followed the instructions for the config.php files in /includes and
admin/includes.
I then changed the name of the admin directory as suggested in
the final process of the installation.

Each time the admin page is missing.
Zen Cart has loaded ok and works but I now cannot get in to
change it.
The host has checked that the php is working ok.
Have run out of ideas as to why this is happenning.
My host is Hostmonster,using Filezilla,Notepad Plus..

amount of effort in developing it.
I can't find a solution to a simple install problem and
having spent so much time trying to sort it out,it's goodbye
Zen cart.
Not worth the effort after promising so much.

I just installed ZenCart myself. I did it via Softaculous (or something like that) via WebHostingPad.com. I have my URL and username and password, but where the heck is the admin area? I can see my shopping cart at the URL, but can't figure out how to configure it. Help!

If version 1.3.9h, you will have to determine what they have changed the admin directory name to
