Advice on shipping charges please

Hi I am a first time ZEN cart developer.

Huge learning curve but I've got to where I need to be.. adding the products.

However with shipping my clients shipping fees are not general and are way too random to make a general rule for . i.e. they can be 1.70 2.40 4.70 5.99 3.00 and so on.

Then there is a rule..

All combined sales will have a maximum of £9.50 carrier charge up to 10 Kilo.

I am really confused as how I can go about getting all the shipping costs correct then abide by the 9.50 rule.

Can someone help advise please.

Thanks

Re: Advice on shipping charges please

If the charge is per Product per quantity, you could use the Per Unit perweightunit where the Product Weight is used as the shipping costs ... then, you can customize the shipping module:
/includes/modules/shipping/perweightunit.php

to allow for a maximum of 9.50 for the cost ...

I still don't understand as the shipping costs are all so random I can't do it as weight..

Does that make sense?

Like a 1kg product could be 3.99 while another 1kg product could be 4.99

I'm really confused lol.

Thanks
