strong password strength

Does anyone know if there a tool exists within Zencart for strong password strength ?

Are you saying you're not sure how to pick a secure password for yourself?

No, he wants to show customers how strong their password is upon creation of their account.
(we had a topic started yesterday about it on the Dutch forum)

We know it is available for other cart systems

It is available for Joomla by example.

You're welcome to write one and share it with the community.
I do suggest that whatever you write be simple and unobtrusive: you don't want to create barriers for customers to continue with checkout. And if you force too much complexity on them during checkout, you run the risk of them forgetting that they were about to pull out their credit card and make a payment to you ... and that's certainly something you want them to finish, right?

Essentially, the creation of a customer's password is entirely up to the customer.

If they want to create something difficult to crack, good and well. If they want to use their 'standard' pwd (which they may be using all over the www) and leave themselves open to a possible intrusion of their account - that's too bad. But that can't be held against the store owner.

I'm with Dr Byte in a commercial sense: don't make it too difficult for the customer or you loose business.

Just my 5c for what it's worth.

It should indeed not too difficult for the customers, but my idea was to display a sort of indicator to warn that their used password is too easy.

It seems indeed not easy to say, you have a 1-9 or # $% use for your password, which is too difficult for customers :cool:
