Did an install through Fantasico, immediately saw I should upgrade. Make the download then read docs\2.readme_how_to_upgrade.html

Wow! Since I'm only going from d to f, I wanted to how often this happens but who knows? I'm outta my element here :no:

I figured there must be some php files that connect to mySQL with the username, that Fantastico did automtically for me. This is my first time trying a cart system and I did not think I could locate the files that work with the DB.

Even with help, if I could locate the files to perform a fresh install/upgrade, I'm thinking of the future. Looks to be quite a process for later.

Fantastico had another choice for me, CubeCart. Same thing there but that upgrade truly was 'easy'. Instructions were small, sensitive files are pointed out. They even had auto or manual methods. A good suggestion for ZenCart perhaps?

One has the ability to extend ZenCart through custom code or through 3rd party modules and most times both.

An auto method would have a monumental task determining what code was custom, what 3rd party modules were installed or the versions they were.

A wanted customization could very likely be over written/lost if the user had not used the builtin override system
