After creating account customer still has to log in

After creating account customer still has to log in

After a customer creates their account, they are returned to the home page and have to log in. What do I need the change so they are automatically logged in after creating their account?

There's nothing in the error log either.

I created an account and it timed out with a server error after I clicked submit, but the account was created. What happens if you switch temporarily back to the Classic template ?

I forgot about switching templates. The classic template seems to work. So the error must be in the create account success page then?
