HTML Newsletters arriving as plain text

Hello,
I tried searching the forum for this topic and couldn't find anything, so hopefully I'm not posting something that has already been discussed.
I am trying to send an html newsletter instead of a plain text one. When I send it out, it just comes across as the actual code instead of the html page. I have sent it to my store e-mail address and my hotmail account and got the same result. I have enabled use MIME HTML, but that did not help. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

Do you have either of the email addresses you sent it to registered in your storefront with the preference set to html? I have had to do that with my admin emails else I got everything in text no matter what my settings in admin were lol

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I still can't solve this problem. I keep sending test emails to myself and they keep sending as text-only.

I upgraded to from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9f and now all emails are sending as text-only even though:

-Configuration/Customer Details - Email
Preference is set to "1"=HTML
-Configuration/Email Options - Send Email As is set to HTML, and Email Admin Format is set to HTML
-Under Customers/Subscription Manager (For Newsletter-Only Add-On) I see that all customers except for one requested HTML format

Any suggestions would be helpful!

I have the same issue I have sent newsletters to both my email accounts and I am receiving text only. I have gone through the book I have purchased from here and there is nothing in it that I could find to help resolve this issue.

Can anyone help us both in this matter

Good news! I followed the wiki and fixed it all I did was change my smpt host which gmail to my hosting provider and bang it worked but how do chnage the zencart banner I am now receiving.

And I fixed that up as well

I can not send HTML emails such as newsletters, coupons, etc. However, the automatic emails such as order confirmation and welcome emails are sending as HTML. I have tried many ways to fix this but I really need advice. Here is all of my information:

Zen Cart version: 1.3.9f
Operating on: Windows
SSL: yes
Host: Dedicated server on hostgator

Admin/Confifuration/Email Options:
Email Transport Method: SMPTAUTH (if I use any other method the emails will not send at all (even text)
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails: True
Send E-Mails: True
Email Address (sent FROM): [email protected] (this is a valid email that works)
Emails must send from known domain?: Yes
Email Admin Format?: HTML
SMTP Email Account Mailbox: [email protected]
SMTP Email Account Password: (entered correctly)
SMTP Email Mail Host: I currently entered the dedicated IP address, but I have also entered the mail server name. Neither seem to make a difference. Hostgator also lists a SSL server name, but I don't know how to enter it into zen cart because it uses a * in the name. I don't know if the * is a symbol for a password, or something else I should know.
SMTP Email Mail Server Port: I entered the outgoing mail server port. There is a SSL port as well, but when I enter it emails will not send at all (even text).

Using the above inputs I am able to send emails as text, but no HTML. I have been able to send emails in HTML in the past, but within the last 6 months I have moved my site to another host company, and have also upgraded the zencart version.

I read the troubleshoot page, and checked the files in the /email folder. The permissions are all set to 0644.

The email address you are using is most probably the supplied by host provider try and follow their guideline on how to set up sending emails it's nothing different from your ISP only the words change. If all else fails use your email address provided by your ISP I personally found this to be better than what was provided by my Hosting provider besides you can you can set up in zencart that it's been sent from [email protected] but when you receive emails it will be sent to the one your ISP provided. This just saves logging in all the time to check for emails. I use microsoft outlook and I have a notifier when I receive emails.
