Currency Updateing Error (500 Internal Server Error)

I am running into an issue with the Currency update function on my site.
When I attempt to update the currencies that I have installed, I receive the following error:

Server Error
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I know that it checks www.x e.xom and one other (Not sure what one, but I recall reading about it somewhere on tihs site), but I don’t understand why it is faulting.
I do have some other currencies that I have added so that I can provide the best possible customer service to existing clients (Japan, South Africa, China, Singapore, India, and New Zealand.
I currently update these by hand, but it s is a tedious and time consuming matter that I occasionally forget about when working during the day.
More than likely, the issue is the matter of a few pennies, but I have already been contacted by one customer that informed me that my calculations on the site were in error.
Isit a simple matter of checking the php code, or something with my host (GoDaddy), or something entirely different that I have no clue about?
Thank in advance to anyone that wishes to help. I appreciate the assist.

Re: Currency Updateing Error (500 Internal Server Error)

I'm unable to recreate the symptoms you describe (500 error when clicking Update Currency button) on a fresh clean install of v1.3.9f (there have been no changes to that part of the code since 1.3.9a), and I've tested on various servers, including one of GoDaddy's cheap freebie-hosting servers which usually have a myriad of problems due to being overloaded and serving up banner ads. I did find that their server timed out a few times causing some odd displays and sometimes odd errors, but the currency update didn't trigger any errors.

I'm inclined to think that the problem's not related to the PHP files, unless you've got some that are damaged due to edits or failed FTP transfers.
