EZ Pages images

I know the EZ Pages are stored in the database, so is it possible to be able to use images in those pages? I tried putting in the full source path to an image but that didnt seem to work.

Any ideas/advice?

Thanks

Re: EZ Pages images

Yes, you can enter the path to images by typing the path in the raw HTML: <img src="path_to_image_file.jpg" />

Re: EZ Pages images

Got it thanks! I was including the root folder in the source and that wasnt working, I had to start it at the zencart folder level.

Next question : How can I remove the default text that shows up in the EZ-pages as the EZ page name.
Example: if my ez page name is "Dvd's" Then it says "Dvd's" In a very generic black font at the top. How do i remove that ?

Re: EZ Pages images

That's the H1 tag built for the page by using the page's title.
You can't remove that on a per-page basis. You'd have to hack it out of the tpl_page_default.php template file, and that would then affect ALL ez-pages when displayed.
If you just need to style it differently because you don't like the "black", make appropriate edits to your stylesheet instead.

Re: EZ Pages images

I am perfectly fine if it only removes it for the EZ pages, I will try to track it down and edit it. Thanks.

Re: EZ Pages images

Got it, and its freaking great! I hope there isn't something I'm not aware of that it will affect.
But here is how I did it, so others can know.

Find your tpl_page_default.php in /ZENCART/includes/templates/template_default/templates/

Comment out this line:

<h1 id="ezPagesHeading"><?php echo $var_pageDetails->fields['pages_title']; ?></h1>

To see what it looks like, here is with it removed, and I replaced it with an image.

Re: EZ Pages images

Well, now you've removed the existence of H1 tags, meaning you'll lose the SEO benefit of that. That's your call. If you don't want search engines indexing the content on your site, that's fine.

Re: EZ Pages images

Is there anything else I can do to remove that text while still getting the SEO benefit?

Re: EZ Pages images

Good page design puts the prominent text, the topic of the page, inside the H1 tags. That's why the title text was placed there by default.

I recommend that you think creatively of a way to keep the meaningful text despite wanting to be all artsy and graphical. Work both into your design, instead of dumping one just because it doesn't match the first incarnation of what you thought things might look like.
