Not working: Customer Authorization: Hide Column Left ?

Hi everyone,
I have a question concerning customers login page, please help if you know!
I am using dreamhost zencart v1.3.9e and I want to require users to login before browsing the shop. I have done the following and everything work except some issues about category(which I want to display before login).

Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices 1
Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending 0
Customer Authorization: filename customers_authorization
Customer Authorization: Hide Header false
Customer Authorization: Hide Column Left false
Customer Authorization: Hide Column Right false
Customer Authorization: Hide Footer false
Customer Authorization: Hide Prices false
Customers Referral Status 0

Login is required before browsing, however the category on the left is not displayed. Is there anything else I need change?

admin -> Tools -> Layout Boxes Controller
press "Reset" Button

I have achieved the result by changing the admin/configuration/customers details setting to the followinng:

Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices 0
Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending 1
