Emails don't arrive at my yahoo account

Hello everyone. I am a newbie at zencart and have setup my store well with good advice from here at the forum. I am having one problem.

I cannot get emails from the website. I have followed the advice here and try and change my transport, when I use php I get a error message "Could not instantiate mail function" check admin. when I use sendmail and sendmail-f it shows that it was sent but nothing at my yahoo account. as for the others it does not work either. can someone help please. I followed the advice and add the email archive manager and set archive in admin to true. I can see all the messages that have been sent but I still would like to know how to fix the problem with my yahoo account.
