Ye Olde "indexHomeBody" issue with Chrome ...

Morning all,

https://www.DisasterSupplyCatalog.com - I'm over at a friends to show off and tell him to bring the site up on his browser, which happens to be Chrome; and to my shock the home page is askew... product pages, information pages = all fine - just the bloody home page is off-set.

IE7/8, FF3 - all fine.

I've scanned the entire board system here, and the two items that I could find didn't deal with this, so I'm appealing to the masses.

The literal difference between the two (home/product) is the 'indexHomeBody' entry.

I'm flummoxed and quite tired - hoping someone out there sees this and goes, 'bah! what a noob... it's right there ---' :laugh:

Thanks,

Not for nothing but I don't see indexHomeBody defined anywhere in your stylesheet. Your site doesn't format correctly for me in FF or Chrome. I don't know what you were trying to do by adding the id to the body tag but if you want to use it add something like this to you stylesheet.

body#indexHomeBody {
width:100%;
}

even with that tag your page doesn't format right for me in FF unless I take the float off your logo. Weird stuff happening.

Zen Cart automatically adds an id to the body tag to identify the page, and since "index" refers to several different kinds of pages, the id #indexHomeBody is applied to the homepage.

See - now THAT is truly strange, since in FF 3.6.10 it's been rendering fine, it's Chrome where the problem is with the body shifting. the indexHomeBody isn't in the css since it gets created from the php file (from all the 500+ posts I've read)

I'll add your suggestion and see, and the other strange thing is - I never changed the 'float'

Thanks for the ideas... now to go poke it some more...

My FF is 3.6 also and for some reason that float causes the logo to shift right about a quarter of the way. Strange thing is it seems like the float should work perfectly. Maybe I'm the one with issues and you should just ignore everything I say. :blink:

Thanks,

You could try adding the following to the very bottom of your stylesheet and see if that makes a difference.

#contentMainWrapper {
clear:both;
}

Re: Ye Olde "indexHomeBody" issue with Chrome ...

Added the 100% width, and it's still a problem...

Just to recap - the header and footer appear fine on all the pages - it's only on the home page that the body shifts to the right about 210 pixels (+/-)

No worries on the advice badarac - you never know when a nugget will pay off! :D

ClydeJones - it's in, and still the same issue. (drat - cause you're normally 100% ON! :) )

I take that back - it was right on... for some reason had to upload it twice before the css took.

**You da man Clyde! **

Thanks 1E+06!
