Facebook Fan Sidebox - remove the border?

Hi folks,

I've got a Facebook Fan Sidebox (Link).

Technically it works perfectly, just as I want it to. But visually, I'd really like it to not have the frame around the content inside the box, as the sidebox itself has its own border, there's no need for two!

So any ideas on removing it, while not affecting the functionality of the box? Or would it require a total recode?

There's an image of it, and the border I want to lose...any help at all would be wonderful.

If I scrap the iframe, would the whole thing not stop working? What would I replace it with? Apologies for being slow on the uptake...

It looks like that content is being served by Facebook, so you can't change the styling. You might check with them to see whether they have a border-less version. Amazon does for its book iframe links.

Cheers stevesh, I followed this tutorial to make it in the first place, so it's using XFBML code and not iFrame from Facebook, or are they both types of iframe?

Your source code shows the iframe version, so ...

You might try re-doing it with the XFBML version and/or ask Kerrin about it.

Is there any way you could show what you added to your stylesheet? I'm not entirely sure where and what I need to add to get rid of the spacing on my facebook feed.

I've just installed this and followed the KerrinHardy route to installing it, now I have 4 people liking it on the page and 5 poeple liking it on the site !?! One of the followers is always repeated but its random as to which one it will be.

I'm using 1.3.9h

Any Ideas ?

I have little problem with white border too. My second problem is space between main sidebox bodrer and facebook fan content from top and left side. Thanks for any help.

oqix, to remove the spacing from just the Facebook Like Box sidebox, add this to your stylesheet:

#fanboxsideboxContent {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
}

I think you will be stuck with the white border as Facebook haven't provided tools for us to style the Like Box. I know you have a dark theme, but what does the Light Like Box look like?

Just trying light box but text of this box is too dark. I think I can live with white border :smile:.
