Masking store foldername in URL

I'm looking for a way to mask the long URL that is shown to the user for example:

http://www.vintagecollectionsonline.com/zencollections/index.php?main_page=

Let us not be mistake about using .htacces because I have already set it up so I can just have http://www.vintagecollectionsonline.com and it does go to the long URL above.

Does anyone have experience with this? I would really appreciate the help.

Move your shop to the root

I was hoping not to have to do that. I was reading something about putting some for frames in one of the .php files?

Other than moving to root - does anyone have other ideas?
