1.3.8 to 1.3.9f database and admin password problems

Following my 1.3.8 site being thoroughly hacked I backed up the database and deleted everything and clean installed 1.3.9f. I then imported the backup database using phpmyadmin.
Now I can't log into the admin page (I used different username and password for 1.3.9f - I could log in before I imported the database) and in the shop I get the message that "Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels." My hosting company is running mysql 5.0.45.

I could reinstall 1.3.9f again but would I run into the same problem with the admin password? Any advice?

Thanks:dontgetit

Re: 1.3.8 to 1.3.9f database and admin password problems

Importing the old database brings ALL the old data into the new database, replacing everything in the new one. As such, you'll need to use the OLD admin password to access the admin after importing the old data. You'll also need to run the zc_install database-upgrade option on the imported database to bring it up to the new format. That's covered in the upgrade documentation in your /docs/ folder.
