How to quickly consolidate lists of files to copy
Trying to skip ahead by several minor-point releases at once? Want to create an easy to use list of files to be copied?
Try this...
Download and install Notepad ++, then open up the changelogs of all the various releases ahead of yours in a web browser (if you are using 1.3.9a, open all releases starting with 1.3.9b).
Open up Notepad ++, then copy and paste the paths of the files changed in every one of those releases into a new document. Select all of the text, then go to TextFX > TextFX Tools > Sort lines case insensitive.
This will create a neat, alphabetized list, allowing you to easily spot and delete the duplicates as well as group directories by putting spaces between them.
