re-enter lost customer order

Hello
I had a customer who called in an order as He was at a public computer and was uncomfortable using it to enter his CC. With in minutes of making the order successfully I had a database corruption so I lost the order I had done for from the front side. I want to recreate the order but do not want to charge him twice> i tried placing the order with a coupon but it added shipping. I went back in a clicked free shipping and only the shipping was deducted. not sure what to do now? I thought I had a good idea but it is not working out for me.

What I've done in that situation is install the Check/Money Order payment module, log in as the customer and recreate the order using that payment option, then remove the Check/Money Order option.
