1.39g advanced search changes?

After upgrading from v1.39f to v1.39g, my advanced search pages are no longer working properly (no results returned- just a blank page). Was there anything added to the update besides the (int) code before a few $GET strings? Something that I missed? Can anyone tell me anything at all about what that code does so that I can keep it out unless it's absolutely necessary?

On another note, I would just like to document for the forum that I've now spent several frustrating months hacking around the advanced search and advanced search result header.php files. I've had to do so because the advanced search function, as it stands works very badly for anyone with a large store (I currently have about 3500 products). This IS a common problem that zen cart users complain about, here & elsewhere. I frequently consider leaving zen cart altogether because of the advanced search problems. As far as I know, no one has yet found a robust advanced search solution for zen cart.

However, the pages were functioning and returning results before the update to 1.39g. If someone would let me know exactly what changed, I'll get back to fussing with the code myself.

After upgrading from v1.39f to v1.39g,
Look at the change log changelog-v1-3-9g.html, there were no changes to any search files
Compare for yourself

If a blank page, seek solutions for that

Re: 1.39g advanced search changes?

Sorry, but that doesn't sound correct.

I just checked the changelog in the docs file. Both advancedsearch/header.php and advancedsearchresult/header.php are listed as being updated.

Before posting, I combed through the code by hand and compared the version I had up (which was up to date) with the 1.3.9g version. The only changes I found were a few insertions of "(int)" before a couple of $GET strings. Were there other changes? What do those pieces of code refer to?

If you are getting white pages ... what errors do you see in the /cache directory ...

Re: 1.39g advanced search changes?

I'm just getting pages with my template, but with no results. The source code gets down as far as the <div id="productListing">. I'm not absolutely certain what you mean by the cache directory, but I think that means it's not a mysql error, right?

Found the trouble. After digging & redigging, I finally discovered that as usual, it was the computer user who screwed up. One of my hypercustom files didn't get copied over to filenames.php. PHEW!

Thanks for the update that this was, in fact, user error and not an error in the Zen Cart code ...
