strange issue on mainpage

I posted this issue in the html tags show thread after the upgrade
but it is a different issue and got no reply so gave it a new thread.

If I browse to my shop by typing the address in the address bar the chained ajax, php/mysql select options does not work it just sits trying to retrieve the second chained select option.

But if click on another page (ie: about us) on the site and click back to the home page the chained select works fine.

You can see an example of it at

http://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/shop/

I went from version 1.3.9f to 1.3.9g and this works
fine on the live site which is running version 1.3.9f.

I have tested in firefox, opera, chrome and IE issue persists,#
any help or advice would be appreciated.

Most likely will not here either - Upgrading from 1.3.x to 1.3.9 -
This is more for issues with the ZenCart code
There is no ajax in the default code
Try posting in the modules support thread

Re: strange issue on mainpage

Hi I know there is no ajax in the default code this
is something I incorporated into the shopping cart to make it easier for
customers to locate products.

If it worked in version 1.3.9f fine and now not 1.3.9g unless a user clicks on a different link within the
site then it leads me to believe that something in the new zencart code maybe causing this problem.

Current live site with script working fine on version 1.3.9f
https://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/store

Test site where I get this issue with version 1.3.9g
https://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/shop

If you believe this to be in the wrong board please move it to the correct board.

Thanks

NOTE: your advance search does not even work on your site ...

Check that you have upgraded all files on the server correctly ...

As many, I am only a volunteer here and can not move things

Default code functions as designed, it is the 3rd party code that has issues

Re: strange issue on mainpage

The advance search works fine I just have all but 3 of the products turned of on the test site.
The data for the chained selects is based on additional tables I have created in my database.
The combination of this data is then passed to the advance search and will match product names in the zen cart products and returns the appropriate result.

Regarding this issue does it not seem strange that a link to the page from an external source or by directly going to the site from the address bar will not allow the
script to run but from going to the page from an internal location does.

I have found out what the issue is, due to me having multiple domains pointing to the site and not updating the configure file correctly when I changed the pirmary domain.
I was visiting the site through the domain https://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk, I still had the zen cart configure.php file for the test site set with the domain https://www.mtec-uk.com for
define - HTTP_SERVER, define - HTTPS_SERVER, i modified this to mtecbrakes.co.uk and everyworked fine again.

So it looks like the new security features regarding xss are working fine.

Thanks for the help.

Re: strange issue on mainpage

Thanks for the update that all is working fine now that the configure.php file is configured correctly ...
