How to make free product attributes optional?

Zen 1.3.9e

I have a product-Make your own sandwich, with some attributes that are free-like dressings etc

at the moment the first free attribute in each dropdown is automatically being added to product, even if client hasnt chosen anything from those values

how can i stop this?

thanks in advance

Re: How to make free product attributes optional?

Add Option Values such as:
-- NONE --
Default: YES
Sort Order: 5

Now they will be the first choice if the customer doesn't pick something that they really want vs just giving it away ...

Re: How to make free product attributes optional?

Just checking and actually even with attributes that do add to the cost of the sandwich, the first attribute in those dropdowns is automatically being added also-hmm

basically I need all attributes to be optional, and when none are selected, then none are added to base product

thanks for the response Ajeh

Re: How to make free product attributes optional?

The only way to do that is to make them all Checkboxes ... but then ALL of them could be selected ...

Otherwise, with Radiobuttons or Dropdowns ... "something" will be selected, even if it is a NONE ...
