How to change the colors?

I am running Twist of Nature and would like to change some of the back ground colors. It is a funky olive drab color currently and would like to see it with something else.

While looking through some of the things and when I see "color" I was hoping to see something like "green" or "white" or "black" but its stuff like "fff" or "ffffff" Is there a simple way to change these, or a guide to what the different letters designation is?
