Customize the main page

I was wondering if it is possible to customize the "main page" of our site. Right now we have the featured products show up, but I was wondering if I could create my own page to show up there... Anyone know if it is possible? Was thinking a few pictures and links etc, nothing fancy... Anyone know how?

You should be able to use Tools > Define Pages Editor > define_main_page.php to do that, unless your Template Monster template has disabled the use of that.
You would want to set Configuration > Layout Settings > Categories - Show on main page to 0.

Thank you for the response. I am still having a little trouble though...

I change that define pages editor main_page.php a little bit. And I had sure that the Categories - Always Show on Main Page was set to 0.

Previously we had the featured products up on the page, so I went to Configuration > Index Listing and set show featured products to 0 as well.

Is there something else that I need to do?

Scrap that Template Monster template:)

Seriously, TM has probably coded the template files so that the admin controls will not work. You would need to compare the TM template version with the /template_default/ version and restore whatever code is necessary. I can't be more specific without actually seeing the template files.
