checkout_process is a white blank page after credit card order

checkout_process is a white blank page after credit card order

I got a credit card merchant account with paypal because i am opening a brick and mortar store, and i would like to accept credit cards through the online store too, because well, i might as well.
So i installed the credit card module. i went under admin and allowed visa/mastercard.
then i used my test account to make an order with a credit card to test it out.
it looked like it worked fine, but after i entered the information it went to a blank white page
the page was /index.php?main_page=checkout_process

i recieved an email that i got an order, but i never got payment. the website just sits on the checkout_process page as a white page.

i am using zen cart 1.3.8a patch 1

im not sure how to fix this, or what the problem even is i guess. I havent made any code changes or anything to how the zen cart actually works, so im pretty sure its not something i would have recently done.
