Help with Category display with sub-categories

Hi guys

Having problems with getting desired appearance when customers click on categories in left column menu.

Firstly, I'm getting the number '1' appearing before the subcategory name, which is weird. Does anyone know how to remove this?

Secondly, when the categories are clicked, I'd like to have subcategory thumbnail pictures appear in the centre content area, under the category banner. How is this achieved?

Website link

Thanks so much for any help, I'm at a loss after searching the net long and hard.

Re: Help with Category display with sub-categories

First off you are using a template monster template - -
So any thing suggested here works on a standard ZenCart template but no guarantees with yours

Llook in admin > config > layout settings > Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories > set to "1"

Have to look to your template supplier for this one

Search this forum for template monster and see the issues caused by their templates

You either like them the way they are or play heck trying to adjust

Re: Help with Category display with sub-categories

Just an update... I've fixed the first issue I had, but for the life of me can't figure out how to get these thumbnails for the subcategories to display under the banner in the centre column.

In that case it falls under his first comment, "First off you are using a template monster template - -

I've seen a couple people post similar issues with Monster Templates. You'll need to contact Monster Templates to help you on this one.

On another note, I love your background and logo.

Re: Help with Category display with sub-categories

Hi guys
thanks for the feedback!
Yeah has been a struggle shaping the site the way I want it.
However with this one, that part of the original template actually functions how I desire... I must have somehow changed it, which is why I'm wondering what I did... see the original template here

Not sure if that helps.

Re: Help with Category display with sub-categories

The page n the link is not the homepage but a category page. What is in tpl_index_default.php, and tpl_index_categories.php? The first one is the basic homepage file, and the second is the category listing file used when categories are set to appear on the homepage or elsewhere.

Your view source shows```
